1. Your Choice

When you first visit, a small banner asks you to either Accept cookies orReject optional cookies. Essential session storage (below) is always required for the site to function; optional analytics run only after you accept, and you can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer or on this page.

2. Essential Session Storage (always active)

Harassed By Bailiff uses essential session storage and local storage to save your active Case Snapshot (Case #HB-XXXXX), authenticated session tokens, and tool diagnostic state. These identifiers are necessary to provide the service and are not used for advertising.

3. Optional Analytics (only after acceptance)

If you accept optional cookies, we run privacy-safe first-party analytics that collect:

• Identifiers: a randomly generated visitor ID and session ID created with crypto.randomUUID() — never derived from personal data.
• Events: page views, clicks (positions and element types only — visible text is never captured), scroll depth, section dwell time and form field focus/submit (field names only, never typed values).
• Technical context: device type, screen size, language and referrer.
• Geography: country/region derived server-side from network headers, stored as "unknown" when unavailable. Raw IP addresses are not stored; if our server-side salt is configured, only a salted hash is retained.

Analytics events are retained for a maximum of 90 days, then deleted automatically. Aggregated reports may be kept longer with personal identifiers removed.

4. Sensitive Debt & Legal Data

Data about debt enforcement and legal matters is treated as especially sensitive. Individual case data is never sent to AI summarisation models; analytics insights are only produced from aggregated cohorts of a minimum size, and we do not sell, license, or trade visitor data to third-party advertising networks.

5. Withdrawing or Changing Consent

Click Cookie settings in the footer to re-open the banner and reject optional cookies at any time. Rejection stops tracking immediately, removes analytics storage and disconnects all tracking listeners. You can also clear your browser's local storage, which resets the choice.
